Many of us know the mind is where the true battle is going on. What a crazy battle it can be sometimes. Our minds are the most powerful weapon on the face of this earth.  Why do you think it all starts there? Let’s look at some scripture, I promise I’ll try my best not to preach a whole sermon to you, I’ll save my hooping and hollering for another time. Let’s take a look at Genesis, I’m going to break up the scripture a bit. I want you to see the main point I’m trying to pull out of these scriptures, look at Genesis 1:26

“Then God said let us make man in our on image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion.”

Now go to verse 27

“So God created us in his image, in the image of God he created him.”

Not only did He give us power to rule over things, including the angles, but We are created in the image of God. Right there you see how much power we have. When God created us, it first was a thought. He had to see it. Then He brought life to His thoughts and formed us. The mind is a powerful weapon. Why do you think that the devil has been after men and women since the beginning. We have something that he does not have and wants. That’s the power of the mind. Thoughts are the beginning of everything. Everything in this entire universe has started in the mind of a person. The chair you are sitting in right now, the buildings, your mobile device, your car, your tv, your clothes, everything started in the mind of a person. Weather it be a good thought or bad thought, it started in the mind. Now that I’ve shown you why thoughts are so powerful and why the enemy is always after the mind, let’s get to which thoughts you should give life to. The devil only has access to your mind one way, and that’s by permission from you. Yep that’s right the devil can only get through your mind and control your thoughts by you giving him access. If you have a thought that comes to your mind and its negative, I’m 100% sure that is not God at all. There is God and the devil. Good is from God, bad is from the devil. When we dwell on thoughts that are not ours we give the enemy access, and not only that, but we bring those negative thoughts to life. I’ll share this small story with you. There was a time a person and I got into an argument on the phone. When that person hung up on me I was so upset. I knew I would see the person the next day. So before I saw that person I sat there and in my mind thought and planed out what I was going to say to them and how I was going to say it. I put so much time and energy into it, that when I saw that person, all that I thought in my mind was brought to life. It was not a pretty scene. I did repent if that’s what you’re wondering. But that example right there shows how powerful the mind is and why the enemy wants to attach himself to you and control your mind. That’s why it’s so important that we renew our mind daily. Romans 12:2 says

” Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

The way you keep the devil out your mind is by renewing it daily. Just like in your home you have to take out the trash. When you you don’t take out the trash it becomes smelly and nasty and may even start to produce insects. Ewww, so gross!! You should do the same for your mind as well. We live in a corrupt world, and yes we all get thoughts that are not ours. So when you do get a thought that’s not yours throw it in the trash. When a thought comes to your mind and you know it’s not God just say to yourself, it’s time to take out the trash. Keep your thoughts clean. Don’t let the negative thoughts form and be released. It says in 2 Corinthians 10:5

“Take every thought captive to obey Christ.”

When you choose to dwell on negative thoughts you give them life and they are birthed and released. Instead of wasting your time and energy pondering on the negative thoughts, ponder on the good ones. Ponder on the ones from the Lord. If you really think about it, a negative thought won’t get you anywhere in life, so why waste the time and energy to even dwell on it and let it form. Keep your mind clean and new everyday.
